SIBLEY—Two Marietta, GA, men were arrested on a variety drug-related charges following the stop of their vehicle about 10:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, near Sibley.
The arrests of 30-year-old Dominique Demetrice Farrar and 27-year-old Silk Lesure stemmed from the stop of a 2016 Hyundai Sonata for speeding, dark window tint, no front plate and an expired registration on the Highway 60 expressway south of 130th Street about four miles northeast of Sibley, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
The odor of marijuana was detected while two marijuana blunts were observed in a cupholder and Lesure, the passenger, was observed with marijuana in his lap.
Farrar, the driver, had bloodshot, watery eyes; impaired balance and the odor of marijuana and failed preliminary sobriety tests. He admitted to using marijuana before the stop.
A search of the vehicle located an ounce of marijuana in the center console, a pound of marijuana in a suitcase in the back seat and 3.5 pounds of marijuana in a bag in the trunk of the vehicle. The search also located a scale, baggies, food saver bags, rolling papers, a grinder and blunt tubes.
Farrar was charged with first-offense operating while under the influence; first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana; unlawfully manufacturing, delivering or possessing with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance — marijuana; failure to affix a drug stamp; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lesure was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana; unlawfully manufacturing, delivering or possessing with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance — marijuana; failure to affix a drug stamp; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
