HAWARDEN—Two Hawarden residents were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop about 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7,
The arrests of 21-year-old Chase Michael Ranschau and 18-year-old Tavon Kylen Powelson stemmed from the stop of a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan that Ranschau was driving at the intersection of Highway 10 and Avenue E in Hawarden, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
The odor of marijuana was detected, and cigars along with marijuana and THC gummies were located.
Ranschau was charged with possession of a controlled substance — marijuana — third or subsequent offense and driving while his license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoked
Powelson, a passenger, was charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana.
